Common Study/Dual course program

The Dual Course program which consists of the accredited program of Management of small and medium entrepreneurship in regions and special educational program from the field of Hotel management with the possibility of obtaining international certificate "Swiss Diploma"

Dual course program study consists of 2 parts:

  1. study plan in English language according to study program by VŠEMVS Management of small and medium entrepreneurship in regions which ends up with a bachelor exam

  2. Simultaneously ongoing study plan of the ALPINE CENTER Slovakia Campus according to the study program of Hotel management, which ends up with the final exams and imparting of "Swiss Diploma".

The aims of the Dual course program

The Dual course program sets out to provide the students with the necessary tools and competencies to add value to any hospitality organization. The variety and scope of the courses offered provide a sound grounding for entry-level supervisory/managerial personnel.

On completion of the study the student should be able to:

  • collect and analyze data for the purpose of resolving issues directly related to the hospitality industry;

  • develop 'soft skills';

  • effectively and confidently interact within an organization;

  • problem solving abilities both individually and in teams;

  • effectively use resources in order to 'learn how to learn'.

The Dual course program combines academic and vocational orientation on an equal basis as the students are closely involved with hands on experience through their internship and academic studies. This involves practical operational courses i.e. Restaurant Operations, Food Production, Housekeeping, Managerial and Academic development courses i.e. Career Planning & Advancement, and Service Quality Management alongside a strategic appreciation of industry factors such as Environmental Management for Tourism and Hospitality Cultural Geography and Tourism & Hospitality Law.

Career Prospects

Graduates of the Dual course program are prepared at vocational level and able to attain gainful employment in a variety of industry sectors, both locally and abroad via trainee programs. In fact many of our students are currently employed in supervisory roles while pursuing their degree. In addition, our graduates pursue and follow their studies with postgraduate degrees both at home and abroad

  • Food and Beverage Manager,

  • Hotel or Resort General Manager,

  • Front Office Manager,

  • Reservations Supervisor,

  • Convention Service Manager,

  • Assistant Hotel or Restaurant Manager,

  • Marketing and Sales Director,

  • Event Planner,

  • Self-employed;

Students are studing

  1. daily/full-time form of study at VŠEMVS in a study program Management of small and medium enterpreneurship in regions and after the successful completed of study are awarded by the academic title of Bachelor (in short "Bc.")
  2. daily/full-time form of study according to the study plan of Alpine Center- Hotel management and after the successful completed of each year are awarded by certificate of Alpine Center and after the graduation Swiss Diploma /click here to see diplomas/, which is the international known certificate in hotel and gastronomy environment. Study is in the English language.

The emphasis in the study is given to foreign languages english is considered as a first language while russian as a second (or other international languages ​​according to the current situation and their applicability in the labor market.)

The study is focused on the practice and successfulness of graduates in the practical aspect if the course which has a specific form and is based in the swiss. It has the best reputation in the world and students of this form of study are sought by the best employers in the fields of hospitality and gastronomy

Part of the study is the completion of the practice abroad for domestic students respectively completion of the practice in the Slovak republic for foreign students

Course of study

Bachelor's study lasts 3 years (6 terms) and is completed by a Bachelor's examination. Each academic year is divided into two terms with:

  • Winter term - THEORY + PRACTICE in real environment
  • Summer term - THEORY + PRACTICE in real environment + SUMMER FOREIGN PRACTICE (Industrial placement)

Practice in real environment:

Foreign practice for domestic students is ensured by the school.

Foreign students' practice is ensured by the school or by students themselves.

By taking part in the practice abroad you will increase chances of getting prospective job after graduation several-time.
